I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Flight Centre Travel Group (Sydney) in May 2018
Interview
There was an online application a phone interview and then as assessment center. At the assessment center you needed to have a 3 minute pitch and then there was a role play a 1 hour written assessment and then a group interview and presentation.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Flight Centre Travel Group (Melbourne) in Apr 2018
Interview
- Once I got through all the pre-assessment stages I was invited to attend the assessment day.
- Arrived and we started by going through a slideshow of the business, salary, jobs, locations, structure etc.
- We were then asked to provide a 3-minute presentation about ourselves to the group
- Once that was concluded we watched some more slides and had a discussion about the business and the graduate program
- After this we did an hour long test where we were asked to do a 4-page document regarding maths and geographical questions about a country. e.g how much is a flight to bali using this airline... 11.05 - 14.55 how many hours is this flight. Just general flight associated questions.
- During this assessment we were drageged out to do a mock travel sale. We were all asked to sell the assessors a trip to london. Just be confident.
- After this was over we were split into two groups... One to stay for the final interview and one that could go home
- The final interview included 3 behavioral questions about the work environment. Practice these and nail your responses.
That was the end of the interview and we were on our way home. Called over the next 3 days being declined due to the behavioural questions not being well enough explained
Main tips. Be confident and Dress nice with a bit of flair (always good to stand out from the other black and white suits)
Goodluck
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Flight Centre Travel Group in Oct 2017
Interview
First applied online, then was asked to make a 2 minute video explaining why I wanted to work there. Afterwards, I had a 10 minute phone interview to discuss the role, salary and ask any questions. From there, I went to a group assessment day. There was 6 other people and 2 interviewers who talked about the role. We were asked to give a 2 minute presentation about ourselves to the group. We filled out a quiz on our geography knowledge (eg. airlines, tourist sights, hotels). We also did a one-on-one sales role play where we had 4 minutes to sell a holiday to one of the interviewers. Also, we did another quiz on calculating prices and commissions to give out quotes on airlines, hotels, car hire, insurance. Overall, interview lasted 2 hours and they short listed during the interview.
