I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Flight Centre Travel Group in Jul 2018
Interview
Applied online, got mail to get scheduled for phone interview. It took 10-15 mins in phone interview mainly asked about why to join flight centre?
Okk with the minimum salary package etc
Then she was happy with my answers, called me for face to face interview and assessment.
We were only 3 people there.
I was prepard for geographical questions, famous cities on maps etc etc, bit nothing happened like that. It was like;
One written mathematics calculation(fares calculations) plus choosing best package for customer.
And in between called for role play.
I did’nt like about role play was that, you have to book a package for customer plus you have to add additional things into that package like insurance, hotel, taxi etc and for this you have only 4 mins!!!
Plus you have to build a rapport with customer.
How is it possible??
If you don’t want to hire, jus say.. Don’t expect such kind of things from candidate. After all we are also human beings not robot to do everything in jus 4 mins plus upselling.
I don’t understand what does a role play give to a recruiter, I think they sometimes loose potential candidate with such a small role play with no practical situations.
Just see the confidence and experience of candidate.
If he/she couldn’t upsell in 4 mins it does’nt mean he/she doesn’t deserve the position.
They expect you to be robotic and have super natural powers for such a minimum salary.
Then we were told that we would be contacted in next 3-4 days about our outcome. It was pretty sure from her gesture that we are not hired (as she called one of us and after discussing something with him and we were told to wait).
And they don’t have that much decency to get back to you in said time, whatever outcome has come. At least should have some guts to say NO, we are not hiring you.
