so i applied originally a couple months ago but received an email a few days later being unsuccessful. On a whim i decided to try my chances again and applied last monday, i got an email the next day saying they were happy with my application and would like to book an interview, i booked it for the next morning and they were super friendly. They tried ringing the number i provided but for some really odd reason they couldn't get through, they sent me an email asking me to ring them. i thought id blown my chances! haha but the interview went great, basically just asking about sales experience why i would make a good agent etc...the normal questions. At the end she said based on the phone interview and my application she would like to see me for a group assessment day but it was the next day and she appologised for the short notice but i was free and went along :) Prior to the interview they require you to do an online test (personality, behaviour & numeracy/literacy) it took me about an hour and 10mins, they said it should only take about 45mins but i couldn't see myself doing it any quicker than what i did. it was pretty easy and straight forward, there was a timed maths and literacy part at the end...have your calculator handy! and some paper too. It was quite nerve racking as i've never really been good at maths but most was basic i answered all of them except for one where you had to add 4 or 5 fractions and i only had 10 seconds left! :( The interview day started at 9:30 and there was about 18 people there, only 2 boys and one arrived late...oops! haha It basically starts off with videos and a slide show about the company and then you have 10 mins to talk to your neighbour and write notes for you to introduce them to the group. was a fun exercise, i liked it :) you can tell who is going to make it or not from this stage if they're well spoken and entertaining and also loud enough for you to hear. there were a few in my group who were quiet and barely made eye contract. lets just say they didn't make it through to the arvo round. after that we watched some more stuff and then they got us to fill out some forms about when we can start etc and do a test. The test was geography and maths. pretty easy for me but thats because i was prepared having read these reviews and i knew what to expect. Make sure you brush up on your capitals, major airlines for popular countries/destinations, where some major landmarks are (i.e.. louvre museum) annnnd destinations for skiing or suba diving etc...those ones were easy as they had 4 choices and they were pretty obvious. The maths questions were good, they really got you thinking and working it out. they were basically like...there are 2 adults and 2 children travelling to blah blah and this is the fare for an adult and a child ticket (5-11yrs or something) is 75% of the adult price and then they ask for the total price for their flights if 10% commission was added on top. There was 2 maybe 3 pages of those types of questions and they give you a calculator :) During the test they take you out one by one to interview you. i was sh*tting myself! haha but it was quite relaxed, she lady i had just said that we were going to do a role play and i was the agent and she was the guest and i was to act as if i were an agent and go through the steps i think an agent would do. she came in "asking about a trip to fiji" i basically just asked the obvious questions like who's going, where abouts, when, for how long and if they want any car hire or tours pre booked etc...and i think i did really good :D After that we were all back in the room and were watching a video while they were discussing outside, they came back and split us in two groups, the group that stayed in the room were sent home and the group who were moved out of the room were on to the next round but they don't tell you until the groups are all split. After lunch they got us into 3 groups, in mine is was just me and another girl. and they took us away and asked us the typical questions...tell me a time when you were under pressure at work, how did you cope blah blah blah. Each person answered 3 questions and then we all got to leave :) and that was around 2:30 so its quite a long day but after that they said they would let us know the next day how we went after they contact our references.
