I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Flight Centre Travel Group (Sydney) in Nov 2019
Interview
I've read a lot of negative stuff about Flight Centre interviews on here, but wow, I didn't expect to have the same experience.
Applied with an employee referral. A few days later I received an email asking me to book a time for a phone interview for the next day.
Interviewer was 15 mins late (but apologised), was very rushed, kept interrupting me and not letting me answer the question. It was very clear that she hadn't read my resume or cover letter as she kept asking me about my employment history and dates. She should have had it in front of her. Her tardiness, dreadful manner and unprofessionalism were astounding.
Anyway, the interview was cut short. Apparently having a wealth of retail experience, a degree in Tourism Management and a soon-to-be Honours graduation, and having worked for a Government tourism agency and a major airline was not enough for a minimum wage, over-worked role. After explaining my professional experience as above, she proceeded to ask "But have you worked at Maccas as a kid?". Cheers Flight Centre! I'll go get a job at Cotton On or JBHiFi now like you suggested, shall I?
Dodged a bullet here.
