I applied online. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Flight Centre Travel Group (Melbourne) in Sep 2015
Interview
The interview process was incredibly intense and not at all an environment in which you can be yourself. You are being judged in everything you say and do (obviously) but more so than any other interview occurrence. First they show you videos on fc and go on about how amazing it is. Then you get to know your partner and have to get up in front of everyone to say why they'd be suitable for the job. Not sure if your partner doesn't get proper facts about you conveyed if this affects your chances but anyway.. Then we had a numeracy and geography examination and throughout this they pull you out the room to do a sales pitch. I found this part particularly unrealistic. For one, you don't know how to communicate properly, where to put your hands, it's such an awkward ridiculous component of the interview. If you were a travel agent you'd have a computer with countless information right in front of you. If you were unsure Google is right there. In this instance, it was awkward, unrealistic, and not a fair judgment on your customer service skills because a) you haven't received proper training yet and b) the situation is fake and just downright ridiculous. After this stage they Shortlist candidates and send 3/4 home. Tip: it's beneficial to have over 20+ years experience in sales and or be in the travel industry already. Majority of the time they won't even look at you if you don't have prior relatable experience.
Was not a pleasant interview process and I suggest you think twice as it's an indication of the kind of workplace environment you'll be stuck in.
