This process is a pretty normal sales interview. Starts off with an intro call with a recruiter, where they learn more about your background as well as your interest in Freshworks. This then leads to a call with one of the current sales reps. This second call is still pretty casual. It is a quick overview of your background and experience, as well as an opportunity to ask a lot of questions about the current role and status of the company.
This then leads to an onsite interview, which consists of 4-6 30min interviews with current employees. There is nothing out of the ordinary, each interview is structured pretty much the same way. "Tell me about you, What makes you unique, and then questions." Every person I spoke too was very intelligent and had a meaning full interest in how you are and why you want to work for Freshworks. The sales team is relatively young but very driven. They have a very close-knit team, so it is very important to them to learn who the person is and not just their numbers. You will also have the opportunity to speak with the VP of Sales, Bobby Jaffari. Bobby's interview is more formal and he is not afraid to put the heat on to see how you handle it. He has a strong background in Sales, and building teams (ie: Cisco WebEx), so if you're looking to BS, he will see right through you.
If you make it through this, most times they will bring you on to do a Mock Call/presentation, to demo your chops.
All and all, there are not many curveballs in this interview process. The way to be successful is:
1: Know their story
2: Do the free demo to know the product
3: How their product fits in the current space
Concerns:
1: Fast growth over the last year
2: Lots of products with huge competitors for each one
3: Disconnect between product and sales (most of the engineers and product team are abroad in India which makes it tough get a speedy response)
