I was interviewed for the position of Data Science Intern. The HR team reached out to me. They must have gotten hold of my profile through LinkedIn or some employee referral. I was asked questions based on mathematics and competitive programming. I felt that the competitive programming question was not really necessary because those skills never come in handy for a data scientist. I was however able to ace the mathematics questions. Overall the interview experience ranged from bad to ok. I knew that I had a bad chance at going through further rounds of interview but anyways did not lose hope. I reached out to the HR a week later but I was ghosted. It would be really nice if they sent an email saying we weren't selected. Goes a long way in giving a candidate some clarity about their candidacy.
