I applied online. I interviewed at Games Workshop (Nottingham, England) in Aug 2023
Interview
Five stages to the interview process, all done on the phone or via video call. Each stage took an hour at the least. Always at least a week between each stage, so the entire process took a very long time. None of this bothered me too much, the interview process was thorough despite it being long-winded, and could easily be condensed. The infuriating bit however is that despite jumping through all these hoops and giving them hours of my life (and many more hours of preparation for each stage), when I was told that I had been unsuccessful (after the final stage), it was done in email, with no feedback. I think this is frankly embarrassing
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They give you a role-play activity where you have to pretend you’re doing the job for them. If you succeed they give you feedback on how to improve and you have to redo the role-play again at a later date and implement this feedback. They also ask a lot of generic interview questions during the final stage.
It’s a rigorous process consisting of up to five interviews; I made it to the sales exercise, which is second to last, and narrowly didn’t make the cut. However, they forgot to inform me, which somewhat dimmed the up until then very pleasant process. Overall though I’d say I always felt respected and in good hands during the process. The sales exercise is definitely not easy though.
