Internal recruiter reached out to me first. Conducted a phone screen and said would get me scheduled for next round within a certain time period. That time passed and no response. Then a second external recruiter reached out and presented me. The interview process was to be 3 people. I ended up interviewing with 10 people over the course of 6 weeks. Around the 4th week, the recruiter told me that I was the top pick and that all other candidates had been put on hold. The recruiter then told me that assuming I was interested after a site visit, they intended to make me an offer. After the final round (a group interview with 4 people), the hiring manager asked me if I would be available for dinner with more of the team the following week. I said yes, just let me know which night. After a couple of days of not hearing anything, I reached out and was again told an offer was forthcoming...then crickets until a 3rd recruiter reached out to me about the same role. Shortly after this, I received a text from a former employee at another company who had been the subject of a large ethics investigation while we worked together and had gone to work at GF...the text was basically telling me that they had told management a lot of things about me and that since I had caused them to lose their job when we worked together previously, they were going to make sure that I didn't get the opportunity to work at this company.
