I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Gigster in Jun 2024
Interview
Passed both test (15 min test then technical interview), all the test cases were green, then got the email saying:
Our team has reevaluated the demands of the position, and it has taken a new path. While your qualifications and experience are truly impressive, we find ourselves in a situation where the current needs have shifted, prompting us to pursue an alternative direction.
Total joke, wasted time

Interview
I read the reviews here before doing an aptitude assessment that was sent after I applied online. I thought to myself, it can't be that bad, right? Goodness me, the reviews are not exaggerating. It was AWFUL! This was the most insulting thing I have ever seen in my career. You are given 15 minutes to answer high school level type of comprehension questions, match shapes, do some arithmetic, read charts and so on. All in 15 minutes. The questions are repetitive and it makes you wonder why. Like why do we need numerous "X is to Y as A is to ___" type of questions? What new information is being gained about me? Especially given the 15 minute time constraint? The questions are obtuse, some obfuscated and all of them totally irrelevant to the role. I cannot believe such a thing exists in 2023. Remember this is a senior level position but these are the kinds of question they deem necessary to ask people who have been in the industry for decades. I'm sure the founders of the company have seen all these negative reviews but they haven't changed anything. Says everything about their principles and how the view their employees. Utterly disrespectful. Stay away!
