It was a lengthy process that took place on three separate days. First day was an in-depth no camera interview with a recruiter, she was very nice and asked some in-depth questions. I actually feel as though I didn’t perform well on this part but ended up going through to Round 2. Round 2 was with a Team Lead and Operations Lead. They asked some fair behavioral/situational questions and made it a very good experience. I made it through to Round 3. Round 3 (which was actually today) for me was where I got eliminated. The day started off well with an interview with a high-level member of the Operations side and then a subsequent one with two mid-level manager types (I think). These were focused on past experience. Then there was the case study. The Operations Manager who ran the case study was nice and professional. Given that I’ve done traditional development/implementation BA work before. They asked how I would implement a certain feature requested by a hypothetical client. I certainly don’t think my solution was perfect, and there were some considerations that I didn’t think through as much as perhaps I should have, but I felt as though I responded to the interviewer’s concerns well and even heard “I buy that” a couple of times from him as we talked things through. So, while I didn’t perform perfectly on the case study, I don’t think I completely messed it up. I was hopeful that I had shown a high enough level of performance. Alas, I was told 40 minutes after the case study ended that they were cancelling the rest of my interviews as my case study solution was not adequate enough. Certainly, it was a disappointing result. I felt as though this position fit my background well. That being said, I think the interview process was overall positive and no one at GSG ever made me feel like I didn’t belong within the process or that I couldn’t cut it there. I wish I had a better understanding of what they were actually looking for during the case study, alas it is what it is at the end of the day. I wish everyone at GSG nothing but the best going forward and thank them for the time they spent getting to know me.
