- Video Interview (questions very basic)
- Assessment Centre
The assessment centre was as painful as they come. 4hrs of pointless group activities that's only use was to see how fake people can act and how much nonsense you can spin in group situations. The process was done with 7 HR people and 1 Manager, so it's no surprise there was no one in the bunch that could filter through the nonsense and see the applicants for who they really were. There was a 1 on 1 interview at the end. One HR lady was very rude and condescending. To give an example, I was half way through the interview, going fairly well when I received this response to one of my answers about customer service: "Is that really the best you can do? Can you not think of something better?" I was blown away by this comment and was understandably very shaken and put off for the rest of the interview as a result. I've interviewed with the big 4 and they really make you feel comfortable and welcome which is an effective method to judge someone's real character. This interview was an absolute joke, at no point was I made to feel comfortable and therefore, I was not myself at all. It's no surprise I didn't get an offer, I spoke only when I felt it was important and necessary, I couldn't bring myself to stoop to the same level as everyone else. Comments like "That's a really good point Andrew, it would be great to hear the rest of your point of view" were thrown around way too much and the whole environment was extremely cringe-worthy. I honestly do not believe assessment centres conducted in a similar fashion to this one are an effective method at all to judge a person’s skills and personality.
