I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at HappyRobot in Mar 2026
Interview
The process was highly unprofessional. After being contacted directly by a recruiter for a Forward Deployed Engineer role, the meeting was canceled exactly 10 minutes before the start time. No explanation was provided in the initial notification. When I followed up, the recruiter claimed they had only just realized a "mandatory" requirement was missing from my profile—a profile they had supposedly vetted before reaching out to me initially.
This lack of preparation and disrespect for a candidate's time aligns with the high percentage of negative interview reviews this company has received. It signals a chaotic internal culture where even the most basic due diligence is ignored. I have withdrawn my candidacy as a result.

Question 1
No show. The only 'question' involved was my follow-up regarding why the meeting was canceled 10 minutes before the start time. The recruiter's response revealed that they had failed to review my profile for basic requirements before reaching out to me and scheduling the call.
I had a really laid-back initial interview where we got to know each other and they told me about the role. Then I did the challenge—it took me quite a while, but I had fun. And they congratulated me.

Take-home assessment focused on logistics automation. A short video walkthrough and technical documentation were also required.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at HappyRobot in May 2026
Interview
I was contacted by a Happy Robot Recruiter. The first round of the interview was a 30-minute phone screen. It went well, and I proceeded to the next round, which is the take-home assessment. The assessment involved building an AI sales agent on the Happy Robot Platform and building a dashboard that integrates with the AI sales agent. The dashboard needs to be deployed on a Cloud Platform. The final submission should include a build description, the happy robot workflow, a demo video, and a link to the deployed dashboard and the code repo. After completing the assessment, they replied that we are not moving forward now. We will reconsider you after 6 months.
