Interview questions [1]
Question 1
In the partner interview it was fairly standard questions, why law, why hogan lovells etc.
The situational judgement was more tricky with questions handed to me on a card generally revolving around what would you do if X happened such as, partner had to leave the office, or you were asked to work off site.
HR were very helpful in trying to lead you to the correct answer though.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Hogan Lovells (Birmingham, England) in May 2025
Interview
Interviews with recruitment team and with partners, case study included in partner interview.
Recruitment interview was situational, more about seeing the response of the individual to certain issues arising within the office, both professionally and socially. The whole interview was carried out in a relatively casual manner, more of a conversation than a standard interview.
Interview with partner was more traditional, with the usual questions of 'why commercial law' etc coming up. There was also a case study to discuss which was seen prior to the interview, not too complex and more a test of commercial sense than any legal knowledge - although basic legal understanding was helpful. A more typical interview but not overly interrogative.
