I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Hyperloop One in Jul 2016
Interview
I applied through an internal referral and I was scheduled a phone interview with HR. That conversation went well, typical get to know you type questions. It took her two weeks to get back to me about scheduling a technical interview, and only after I followed up with her. The technical phone interview took place within the next week. This interview started off as a discussion of things on my resume, in which he scrutinized every word, but that's not totally unexpected. Then he drew a tangent based on something on my resume and started asking for thrust equations and aerodynamic equations, even though my resume was entirely structures related experience and I was applying for a structures position. Aside from the questions being difficult, the interviewer seemed very uninvolved and not very personable. The phone call left me with a bad impression and I knew I wasn't getting a call back.

Question 1
What is the thrust equation? What happens when you have a choked flow?

Interview
I applied online on Monday afternoon and got an email for phone HR interview on late Wednesday night. They gave me only 4 time slots for Thursday or Friday to choose from which I found very restrictive and I selected Friday so that I could I could get some time to prepare. The interviewer called dead right on time and started off by introducing herself. Then she asked to go about my resume. She had structured the interview very nicely wherein she asked me a couple of questions and then she talked more about the company then followed by the next questions. This way I felt that I was kept interested and focused in the whole time. I was basically asked about my previous work experience and I was actually surprised about how much deep questions that she asked me about one of the particular work that I carried out at my previous work. I didn't actually expect that level of detail from a HR but I was prepared for it.
I have never received any feedback about my interview nor any more updates regarding the status even after 1 month. I felt they could have sent an automated email atleast to let me know that I got rejected.
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Hyperloop One in Jun 2016
Interview
The process started with the online application where I was asked to answer a few technical questions. I didn't hear from anyone after filling the application so contacted one of the HR people who asked me to submit the application again. She got back to me within minutes of me completing the application and scheduled a phone call.
It was a generic conversation - about my experience, what I am looking for in the role, about Hyperloop one, and the position. The HR lady told me that she'll discuss my profile with the hiring manager and get back to me soon, which of course never happened. Followed up, no reply. Few days letter, I got an automated email that my application has been rejected.
Definitely disappointed! I understand there must be a huge pool of candidates but I don't think the HR is having a half hour long conversation with every one of them. If you're talking to a candidate and rejecting him/her, at least care for the person a little bit. A direct email would have been much appreciated rather than an automated bot email.
Further, how about sharing the profile with the hiring manager first before scheduling a call? If my experience is not enough for the position, it'd save a lot of time for the candidate as well as the HR people by not scheduling a call at the first place.
