      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Hyperloop One (Los Angeles, CA) in Sep 2016

      Interview

I applied online. A recruiter contacted me about a week later, we had about a 20 minute phone conversation- she asked a few technical questions aside from the basic HR stuff. I was pretty impressed with how much she knew about Hyperloop and engineering in general. A technical phone interview was scheduled a few days later. I spoke with one of the engineering managers, he asked several very technical questions which were not easy but I was impressed. A couple days later that nice recruiter contacted me regarding an onsite interview. She asked me to prepare a short power point presentation on a project that I had worked on that would best showcase my engineering problem solving experience and capabilities. I have to admit was pretty excited to have the opportunity to interview at Hyperloop. Day of the interview, I was greeted by a pleasant receptionist who offered me a cappuccino. I sat in a little funky living room area. The office space is very open and lofty. The office is pretty cool, lots of cool brick and wood structures. I found out that they allow dogs in the office! The recruiter gave me a nice tour of the campus. After my presentation I was asked to take a short engineering design quiz followed by a series of one on one interviews. I had lunch with some people I would potentially be working with (lunch is catered every day). The recruiter contacted me about a week later and told me they are moving forward with an offer. The whole process took about 4 weeks. Overall, I thought the interview process went well and as organized. I look forward to getting started!

      Application

The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Hyperloop One

      Interview

I had three rounds for the MDE position. First interview was with recruiter, I was asked basic questions like why Hyperloop, about my background, some mechanics and manufacturing questions. After a month, I was reached out for interview with manager which involved technical questions. After that, I had a virtual onsite interview which involved a one hour presentation on my background and 5 one-on-one interviews with the team. It appeared some interviewers didn’t want to listen, they kept interrupting me. Some interviewers did a poor job of articulating their questions, super ambiguous/unclear questions. Seems like they don’t have a teamwork culture. Manager was cool, overall neutral experience. They are working on a cool technology though.
