I applied online and was contacted by a company recruiter. The entire process took around a month. The position was listed as hybrid; it turns out it was actually remote for that team. I passed the screening and met with the hiring manager. She was easy to speak with, and I actually enjoyed meeting with her. Then I met with the senior manager for the department as a final interview. She didn't even bother turning on her camera, which was inconsiderate. It took them nearly two weeks to send me a rejection after the final interview. I'm not upset due to there being word that layoffs are coming to the organization due to an acquisition. I would hate to start a job only to be ultimately laid off, so I am thankful for that. The pay was also on the lower end [$60-65K], and it should have been advertised due to Illinois' new salary transparency laws.
