I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Insight Global (Los Gatos, CA) in Feb 2016
Interview
My recruiter found me on monster, reviewed my qualification, and found a job that matched my experience. She reached out to me, we discussed salary and the job, and I submitted a recent resume and a link to my portfolio. She submitted me to her client, who liked my experience and skill set. She set up a phone interview. It went well, and I was offered a contract position. The onboarding process was quick- 3 days. The process took one week! Thank you Kory Ogden!
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Insight Global
Interview
I was referred to Insight Global by a colleague. I got a phone interview and then I had an in person interview. I was hired at the end of the in person interview but then the client had to await the budget which took about a month. After two years of unemployment during the worst part of the recession, I was hired!

Question 1
The most difficult question to answer was why I had been unemployed for so long with my skill set. Fortunately, the interviewers were knowledgeable about the struggles of the recession.
