I applied in November 2015 and was contacted by a recruiter. She did a phone interview and decided she wanted to bring me into an office for a second interview. This was a very unique interview process, but my recruiter was with me every step of the process. She said that she would call me the day before my interview so we could go over everything and any questions that I had. She did follow up the day before, and she was so enthusiastic and reassuring! She told me everything to expect and said to bring a lot of questions!
The day of the interview, I was greeted by someone after I notified them that I had arrived. They asked my for my resume and sat me in a conference room. The man who greeted me took my resume to the first account manager that I was going to meet so she could review it. I waited for about 10 minutes and then spoke with her for about 20 minutes. She asked if I had any questions as she was getting up, and I said yes! After we were done, she got up and told me she would send the next account manager in. I assume she gave my resume to him, so he could read it too. I waited for another 10 minutes. He came in and we had a great 30-40 minute conversation. I then spoke with the Sales Manager. We had a great conversation, and the interview ended with her. She told me that my recruiter would let me know about the next steps. I got down to the lobby and saw that I had a missed call and voicemail from her. My recruiter wanted to see how my interview when and how I felt about everything. I was there a little over 2 hours, and she said that was a positive reflection of how our conversations must have gone. I told her that I loved speaking with everyone and didn't want to leave! She told me that they wanted me to come back for a final interview, and that the only ask back 10% of the people they bring into the office.
The final interview was a breakfast/lunch interview. I talked to the Sales Manager and Hiring Manager over breakfast for over an hour. It definitely did not feel like that long. Only in the last five minutes did they ask if I had any questions. I had written some down the previous day, as my recruiter told me to do. I asked about retention rate, and a few other things. We then went back to the office where an account manager came in and told me about benefits and salary. I asked her, like I asked everyone I met at IG, how she got started. We had a very similar story and feeling in the beginning of the process. The Sales Manager came back into the room, and we talked a little more. She had two questions lined up to ask me, but I answered them before she could ask during our conversation. She then offered the job to me, and I was overjoyed! I asked if I could take the weekend to decided and formally accept on Monday! I called my recruiter and told her the great news! She sent me my offer letter and breakdown of salary and benefits. I accepted the following Monday, and couldn't be more excited to start in May!
Interview Tips: They really don't ask you questions. They want to see that you can lead a conversation. Instead of asking you "tell me about a time where you led a conversation," they just put you to the test in the interview. They want personable people, and a vast majority of their employees were members of a Fraternity or Sorority, as am I. If you are not excited about the Recruiter position you are being hired for and just want to make it to the Account Manager position, I would be cautious to accept the offer. You have to work extremely hard and invest a lot of time and effort! But, if you are motivated and driven, you can succeed here! They give you all the tools to be successful, but it is up to you to make your success.
