      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Insomniac (Los Angeles, CA) in Jul 2021

      Interview

First, a phone interview with the recruiter. Second, another phone interview with the lead of the PR team. Third, a zoom meeting with multiple people from the PR team. They seemed uninterested, one person was typing away during the entire interview. Not very welcoming. It felt like the goal was not to learn my background and/or what I can do in the role, but if I'm willing to be on call anytime even though the role was part-time. You also need to write a press deck, press pitch, etc. for a job role that seems to only pay the bare minimum with the atmosphere of working like a slave for a team who could probably care less about you.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

How would you handle press for the owner of Insomniac, Pasquale Rotella? Which media outlets would you target for a music festival?

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Insomniac

      Interview

I was contacted by human resources and we arranged an interview time that worked best for both parties. The interview was not difficult but it was very informal. The interviewer stated that they would just ask me "some stuff". At this point, I felt like they were not considering me for the role and the interviewer was not taking the interview seriously. The most disappointing part of the interview was that they interviewed me for a PR coordinator role but they stated that they were actually looking for a customer service team member. I would have appreciated more transparency on their behalf. I was prepared for an interview that I felt was then thrown out the window as soon as a different role was offered.
