After an initial phone screening I was asked to complete a coding exercise. They expected me to take 3 hours on it and promised feedback on the code should I not end up getting the job. I did exactly what was asked for the exercise. I put a lot into it, making sure my code was nice and easy to read. I submitted the code and waited a few weeks. I finally received an invitation to complete an interview with a developer to discuss my code. The interview was supposed to last 45 min. The interviewer asked a few questions about projects I had completed and then asked if I had any questions. I began to ask and he cut the interview short 20 min for another meeting. A day later I received an email that said they were moving forward with other candidates. I sent the recruiter an email asking if I could get feedback on the coding exercise I had spent so much time and effort on. It's been a few weeks and I have heard nothing back. Overall it was a very frustrating interview process. It felt disorganized and a bit unfair to ask so much of a candidate without giving any of the feedback that was promised.
