Interview
As a Senior Engineer, I expect a recruitment process to reflect the values a company publicly champions. Unfortunately, my experience during a 5-round revealed a significant gap between brand and reality.
"High Quality Standard": On the day of my 3-hour final interview, the format was changed last minute. A new prep PDF was shared just hours before the meeting. Expecting "High Quality" from candidates while providing a chaotic, last-minute experience for a Senior role is a major contradiction.
"Impatience" and "AI-First" Failure: Despite their "AI-First" branding and use of BrightHire, it took nearly two weeks and follow-ups email to receive feedback which was standard clichés that didn't reflect the hours I invested.
Lack of Transparency: When I requested access to my interview recordings (personal data recorded via BrightHire), the request was refused. Instead, I got a massive 15,000-word unformatted text dump of transcripts. Worse, the transcripts for the two most critical meetings—the ones my "areas for improvement" were based on—were missing entirely.
Values Disconnect: It is difficult to take their internal values seriously when the candidate experience is slow, disorganized, and lacks basic transparency regarding a candidate's own data.
