Applied for a position that was in my career field, but with additional responsibilities that I was looking for. A recruiter based in Dublin reached out to me shortly after to set up a 30 minute phone interview. That went well with the recruiter being pleasant and transparent about the next steps, and from there I moved on to a video interview with the hiring manager. The hiring manager was not friendly and halfway through the interview, I knew this was not a company I wanted to work for since this person was the one I would have to work with/report up to. It is unfortunate because it really soured my view of the company, especially after reading all the great things on their blog. Needless to say, I was not at all surprised when I got the rejection email not longer after the interview. Someone else is probably better suited to work with the hiring manager, but I know that person was not going to be me!
