Interview
Although it is a relatively long process, I found it very enjoyable and learned a lot! The Intercom team has hands down nailed the recruitment process. At every stage of the process, I felt prepared and was given updates on my progress within hours of being told I would.

Question 1
Core skills, soft skills, design questions and engineering questions
Pointless. Arbitrary judgment about my previous experiences and unstructured interview. There was no expectation setting other than a generic page talking about culture, and what they value. None of that shone through in the interview.
First round is a take home excercise that involves quite a bit of work over multiple hours. Communication wasn’t clear from the recruiter on what role was actually being hired for, instead was just a general “product” role
The interview process was farily seemless overal, it was quick and easy to schedule the interview after speaking with the recruiter. The interview itself was challenging, and the interviewer was very to the point with little chance for small talk or to get a feel of the role and company culture.
