The company hired an outside recruiting firm to find a data scientist for the IWG team. The job description is terrible. It’s not clear what kind of contract they are offering or what the benefits are. It states: remote position anywhere within the UK. At the same time, I received a message from the director of this firm about my availability and salary expectations. He doesn't provide any information about the contract type (I'm not in the UK), benefits, or the seniority of this position (though it’s listed as mid-senior level on LinkedIn). Simultaneously, he insists that I need to give him my salary expectations, otherwise he can't proceed further. When I ask about the budget, he ghosts me. Then I start asking related questions myself, and thank goodness he at least mentions that they are offering a full-time employment contract within my country of residence, which gives minimum necessary information for my salary range. I provide him my range based on the local market and the assumed seniority of the position, and he ghosts me again, ignoring my attempts to know my status, whether my expectations are acceptable for the budget, and whether they are willing to talk further. Terrible attitude towards the workers and a terrible representation of the IWG company if they hire such recruiters. I'm very disappointed.
