The whole process ran smoothly until the Assessment Centre. I received an invitation to interview with the Credit Sales desk in Paris - the one I applied to initially - and thus prepared accordingly. However, on the day of the assessment centre, I ended up meeting the cross-assets (mostly equities & commodities) structured products desk in Zurich! Needless to say, the interviews were pointless and ran short. The two bankers I met were sympathetic but my credit background obviously did not interest them, and I was not prepared. I reached out to HR but never received an answer as to why I was assigned to an entirely different desk in a different country...
