One of the weirdest and worse hiring/onboarding processes I've ever experienced.
First there was the typical phone screen. The follow up to that was the 2 hour "interview day" even where they bring a bunch of people in, ask 1 hour of behavior questions, and 1 hour of technical questions.
Following that, they decided they were going to give me an offer... which was weird because for most companies thats not enough, but also I did not know enough about them. The follow up was a 30 minute "placement call" which was saying "here you got this job this is the team you're going to be working on".
Odd, but okay, but what follows was why i recommend no one work here.
I receive an email saying i have to submit an application to a job first before i get the offer, which is very odd since i already applied to a position, why can't they internally moveme over, fine, sure. After that they started the background check process, which was handled by a seperate division within JPM.
This process took 5 WEEKS. delayed my potential employment by 5 weeks because a MASSIVE disconnect between the two divisions. They would send me an email requesting information, I'd replay with what I had, what I can provide, what I can't and ask for substiutions. I received almost robot responses days later on each occasion, often either misleading or shows that they didn't read anything I wrote. I finally called them to try and sort things out, they basically told me my email reply with a lot of information was not enough and to send a new one.
Shortly after that, i receive an unrgent text from my would-be manager saying "they have been constnatly trying to reach out to you and gotten no response, if you wish to work here you have to respond"
To which I replied with images of my 2 emails in response to the background check division that had received no replies from them. They said "ill look into this"
Radio silence for another week, employment date delayed another week. More demands from the background check department to the point where I said "F this, i'm going to find a new job".
After 2 weeks from that date, 5 weeks from when I accepted the offer, they FINALLY cleared the background check and sent me instructions on remote onboarding.
I replied to them and told my would-be manager: I accepted another role, consider my employment terminated, and filed what I could using their online portal.
For the next two weeks I received emails regarding how and when to attend my virtual onboarding for a position I pulled out of....
Extremely unprofessional
