Applied online, application included extensive questions and personality assessment. Was called and offered an interview within a few days. During interview, met with three different managers one-on-one. I think the first liked me just for being comfortable, friendly, and honest. They all asked me about past work experiences, what I liked and didn't like, why retail, why JC Penney, my strengths/weaknesses, past experience in the store as a customer. Pretty straightforward. Were willing to work with my schedule. By the end of the second interview, could tell I would be offered a job. Third one was basically to agree on pay and decide on the department/role where I'd fit best.

None really. Was asked what I thought of the phrase "the customer is always right" and to elaborate on my thoughts.
It was overall an easy interview. In a group setting of interviewees, we were asked to each talk about what we thought good customer service was. Then, we had some blocks to build a structure, a house I remember. Without the person you were instructing being able to see the blueprint, you had to describe what to do with the blocks without touching the blocks. I didn't know how I did, but I got hired. This was the holidays of 2017. :)

I got a phone call to schedule an interview, which was quick and convenient. In the interview, one of the managers asked me star scenario questions and asked why I wanted to work for JCP. At the end of the interview, I got an offer.
