I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Jersey Mike's (Los Angeles, CA) in Jan 2014
Interview
I went into the store after seeing an employees wanted sign and filled out an application in the store. That night I got a call from the location's owner asking if I could come in the next day for an interview. When I went I talked to the owner for about an hour than was asked to come in for training ASAP. They really did not care that I had no previous experience, just wanted to make sure I could interact well with customers. I went in a few days later for training and started working there.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Really just wanted to make sure that I could interact well with customers. Most of the other workers were ESL and they wanted someone they felt could relate to customers/soccer moms would like (we were in an upscale suburb). I was terrible at making sandwiches and the other crew members hated me but the owner/manager liked me because the I talked to customers and interacted with the kids. I think both efficient and personable people are assets and alot of the crew members had attitudes and made the customers uncomfortable.

I applied online. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Jersey Mike's (Bloomington, IN) in Nov 2025
Interview
I applied and scheduled the interview on Indeed the next day for the following week. When I went in-person I filled out a thorough paper application at a table. Afterwards an employee came out from behind the counter interviewed me. It was pleasant, at a good pace, and he answered all of the questions I had. He said there was a good chance they would hire me and I should expect to hear back within 1-3 or maximum 5 days from the manager. I heard back the same evening, accepted the offer, and I start next week. The interview was easy besides finding the correct information to fill out on the application (contact info, school history, availability, references you've known over a year, etc.).
