I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at John Lewis & Partners (Leicester, England) in Feb 2025
Interview
Entirely group based, no one to one contact. Somewhat impersonal. Essentially an extension of the online assessment, it can feel a little informal in the moment, so the onus is on the participant to stand out with their answers in a room of 11 people.
The questions published online were unhelpful.

Question 1
Frustrated customers are waiting to pick up their parcels in a queue. There are not enough people on tills. Another customer comes up to you with a broken plate asking if there are any more in stock. What do you do?

Interview
Invited into the store to interview with a Team Manager, they were very friendly, put me at ease and came across very professional. The interview itself was relatively straight forward, questions about me, why I was interested in the role and working for the partnership, then a couple of team work, customer service questions. Come prepared with your availability and flexibility.
