I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at John Lewis & Partners (Manchester, England) in Sep 2024
Interview
It was great. We got invited to the staff area in John Lewis which was massive. This was for the Xmas Temp role. We did a group assessment in a room with 9 other people at least. We split into two groups of 4 or 5, and we had been set a task on how to approach a certain customer situation. We had to talk loud and clear for the assessors to hear us clearly and assess you on company values. My advice is, revise the values and apply it to the things you talk about, that will make you stand out as I was the ONLY one in my group that talked about the values. The assesors were really nice and warm, and I could kind of tell they were happy with my performance after I got smiles as I left the room. Even though it is a temp role, hopefully it can progress to a permanent position :) 2 days after I got an email saying I had passed the group interview with a job offer. Best of luck in your interview/group assessment. :)

Question 1
How would you approach the busy sales in the Christmas periods?
I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at John Lewis & Partners (Chelmsford, England) in Sep 2024
Interview
Very easygoing, you do a group interview discussing an event mine was Christmas with questioning each store sector ie catering, replenishment and customer service. Did an icebreaker learning names with 2 recruiters observing. There was no 1 on 1 interviews which confused me but they said any questions you have, speak to us at the end. Also given an availability sheet where you'd put times you would be available on each day, put whether you're under 18 or over, tick the roles you're more interested in ie catering assistant, sales or stock (you can tick more than one). With 2 confidential questions and a bit where you fill in your personal details again. However, I am deciding not to accept if i do as they said there's a slim chance for a permanent contract.

Question 1
how would you go about promoting featured items for our Christmas event?
Easy, group setting. Questions straight forward, discussed in two separate groups with people monitoring how you interact with one another and then answers are discussed as a whole team. Got a call within a week to say I was successful.
