The first step was a phone interview with an HR staffer. It covered basic interview questions such as: why are you seeking a new position, sales experience and process, etc. I was then asked to complete an online assessment as a preface to a second interview. The assessment is the CCAT, which includes a personality assessment and an aptitude test. The personality component is 15 minutes. The aptitude test that KPA uses isn't the usual CCAT 15 minute test, but rather a 5 minute "gamified" version. You have only 5 SECONDS to complete each question, which are a mix of math, verbal, logic, and spatial recognition problems. The questions aren't very difficult, but with only 5 seconds allotted for each one, you have to think quickly. Since the test only lasts 5 minutes it's relatively painless.
After completing the assessment, I followed up with HR and was told that my assessment results were positive. and was also informed that they were "working through schedules" to set up a second interview.
Two weeks later I received a generic rejection email. No explanation. So much for "working through schedules".
What I experienced during this process was misleading, but unfortunately it seems that HR recruiters have low standards of integrity these days. Memo to HR and all hiring managers: don't lie. It makes life easier for everyone and protects your reputation and the integrity of your company.
