I applied through other source. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Kate Spade New York in Mar 2018
Interview
The interview process went on for 6 months with little to no communication from the district manager. I lost a lot of interest after not hearing a thing until I reached out to her about the death of Kate Spade at which time she said they were still hiring? I had assumed they hired and just didn’t bother to thank me for my time. Initially we spoke over the phone for almost 2 hours and it was a very natural conversation. I had a random interview with a store manager of another store that was awkward, she wasn’t a very good interviewer and seemed inconvenienced to be doing this.. Then when the DM was finally coming to do in person interviews so had me correspond with some other random manager back and forth to set up the interview and answer any questions I had. When I met he DM in person, she was not the right fit of a leader for me. She was very pretentious, seemed inconvenienced being in the city for the day doing interviews, she seemed very uninterested and I felt like I had way more passion for the brand then she had. It was disappointing. Everything I loved about Kate Spade was no longer. She told me she would be in contact with me within a week. At this point I was no longer interested as my experience had been so poor and I realized this wasn’t the right fit for me. Also my circumstances at my current employer had changed drastically since 6 months prior but I thought the correct thing to do was to meet her in person and finish the long process. I didn’t hear a thing and I was expecting her to pass on me but to call me and thank me for my time over the past 6 months. 3 weeks later I received a template rejection letter that she didn’t bother to update, it had grammatical errors and I honestly thought is this a joke? I felt extremely annoyed and emailed her to tell her that the way she handled everything was disappointing. True to her fashion she did not respond. Very unprofessional and overall very disappointing experience. It has made me not interested in shopping there anymore to be honest. I know the candidate that did get hired and I hope she is prepared for what’s to come.

The interview process began with a phone intro interview, one interview with the store leadership team and two interviews with the district manager. Overall it was a straightforward, standard, retail interview process
