I was recruited by the Hiring Manager, so the interview process was a little different.
As well, the company used an outside resource at the time, so that may alter the benefit of this post.
However, the process was relatively standard: phone interview + hiring manager + face to face. Being a part of the subsequent face to face interviews, I will offer the following:
1. Do what is asked of you. You will be asked to create a presentation, about yourself, to highlight who you are and where you have been. This will be delivered infront of 4 - 8 people, all of whom will have input on whether you are selected, or not.
2. Do not prepare as you would be taught to do so, through a staffing agency / employment consulting group. The "wishy - washy", non-committal answers will not fly. Be sincere, be direct; be yourself. Remember - the interview goes both ways - maybe you don't want to join them, if they don't like who you really are?
3. Don't be a "name dropper"! Although this company is 100% driven on "who you know", they are not happy to hear people "drop names". If you know someone who works for the company, you can let it be known; but do not try to use it to your advantage. Remember, for every person that likes someone, there is usually someone who does not like that same person. Do you truly want to roll those dice?
4. You are ALWAYS interviewing! There will be at least one, to two, breaks during your face to face interview; which can last as many as 4 hours. During this time, you will be escorted to the bathroom, or to the cafeteria, or wherever - these conversations will be spoken about, after it is all over. Be you, but be alert!
