There were several Food Scientist positions posted in various sites. The background requirement fitted my own (yet different food area) so I gave it a try. I was not expecting much of a reply but I did. The R&D Director contacted me and she was working with HR, overseeing needs from various groups and try to be the point person for contact. She was very nice and explain their situation and needs thoroughly. Her questions were specifics to the level of looking at the thought process. I did get an invitation to their headquarter for face-to-face interview. There were 6-7 of the team (R&D Dir of various groups & scientists) meeting with me. They generally ask a question of technical, then a question of situational (how you handled from your past experience). The interview was lengthy and specific, very professional. I truely enjoyed the conversation and got to understand the scope of the company.
