Interview

I applied via LinkedIn. Got an invite for the interview next day. During the interview we were firt presented with an outlook about the company. How would our careers be affected if we joined kickdrum and vice-versa. We were then mailed a hackerrank link for the test. After the test got over, interviewer made sure to go through solutions of each and every participant. Some of the test cases were faulty. If our code didn't perform correctly for those cases, the marking was relaxed. This was new for me. Each one of us were shown where our code went wrong , in a very kind manner. This will be helpful to us in the endeavor to improve ourselves.

One question was regarding string manipulation and other was for an sql query.

Interview

The interview process was good. The atmosphere within the ranks of the company is friendly and cool. The leaders in the India team makes you feel comfortable with the breakfast while giving a brief introduction about the company and its objectives and principles. Lunch was also on the house. After wrapping this, the formal interviewing process starts which kicks off with a coding challenge over HackerRank to be solved within 105 mins. Candidates clearing this round then go ahead with the Face-to-Face interviews which is generally 3 more rounds.

A basic problem on sorting with some minor constraints to be implemented over HackerRank.

The F2F interviews focussed on knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms and also tested the various concepts of database management systems like Indexing, etc.

It was one of the best interview process starting with Hackerrank test, F2F rapid fire round, Cultural fit and System design rounds. I could not make it through US rounds; however the quality of interviews were really good and enriching.

Multiple questions on Ds/Algo, Java Multithreading, System design with HA, PSR, Fault tolerant and high performance systems. Technical team leadership and quality bar I hold for myself and others.
