Interview
The interview process consisted of several components. The initial segment involved a written test comprising 15 multiple-choice questions on C++ covering topics like fundamentals, error handling, data structures, etc., along with 2 problems related to Dynamic Programming and backtracking, specifically involving knights on an NxM chessboard. This assessment had a duration of 90 minutes and presented medium to hard difficulty level questions. The technical interview began with a brief self-introduction lasting 5 minutes, followed by a comprehensive discussion of my past projects for 15 minutes. Additionally, I was questioned about text tags and database management systems (DBMS). The subsequent phase centered on system design, which allotted 20 minutes for me to design and pseudocode a hotel management system based on a set of diverse requirements. Subsequently, the interviewer transitioned to problem-solving, dedicating 30 minutes to pose questions. These included one easy problem, the Dutch National Flag Problem, two medium-level problems related to binary tree views, and one challenging problem focused on linked lists. In this segment, I was required to explore various approaches, calculate precise time complexities for each approach, implement the most optimal solution, and conduct a dry run. The round concluded with some informal conversation. The culture fit round involved a discussion of my projects and a case study evaluation. Most of this round consisted of a general conversation and behavioral questions, spanning 60 minutes.
Round 1 of the assessment consists of two sections. Section 1 comprises 15 multiple-choice questions that revolve around topics like C++ and object-oriented programming (OOP). In Section 2, candidates will encounter 2 coding questions, which involve dynamic programming (DP) and hashing. These sections aim to evaluate the candidates' knowledge and problem-solving skills in these crucial areas of computer science.
