I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at LINE (Bangkok) in Apr 2020
Interview
I apply for Frontend Developer position at LINE company Thailand.
There are three main process of interview.
First round is general interview with Hiring Manager.
Second round is take home test for making website using Vue.JS. They provided the API but it can’t be used. I have to contact HR and he sent me the raw JSON data instead.
Third round is review my code and have some enhancement feature. I have to live coding in this round.
For the third round it have to has Team Lead to join butg in my case he didn’t join so HR appoint me for another round.
Fourth round, I was sent to Fullstack Team which dissatified me. Because I applied for Frontend but they sent me to Fullstack Team without my willingness. They didn’t ask or tell me I found out in the interview session.
At first, they told me that this is just general interview to check culture fit. I was asked about the passion to become a programmer which I answer them for real reason because I believe I can’t change my thought in the past but honestly they want the ideal answer you may have to lie to satisfy the interviewer.
Another thing, they request me to live coding again to initiate the API using Express.JS. which I failed them because I didn’t prepare myself for Backend task and it also not one of my confident skills.
Conclusion, the HR work great with professional experience. They always answer my thing and help me to follow-up the result. Main thing that very dissatified me is they sent me to interview with Fullstack Role but I applied for Frontend Developer role without my opinion and willingness. Why did I have to choose position in the first place if you finally don’t take a look for it?
Hopefully, you will listen my opinion and improve your confusing process. At least, the candidate may not feel like they waste their 2 months for free because of your unprofessional process.
