I applied for the Remote Client Advisor position on Indeed. About 3 weeks later, I received an email from a recruiter asking me to fill out a brief questionnaire. After sending it, I got a call from a different recruiter looking to schedule a phone interview.
If you do well on the phone interview, they will schedule a virtual interview via zoom. The interview will be in a group setting and you will be meeting with the hiring manager. There was a spectator who took notes and 2 higher-up managers that also sat in on the interview. Let me say this, the higher-ups that sat in were not nice or friendly at all. They had some of the most stalest faces I have ever seen. One of the managers made an effort to acknowledge only 1 of the 6 candidates in the panel. The hiring manager who facilitated the interview was very monotone and not engaging at all. You can tell her vibe was fake....I mean c'mon, it's snobbish Louis Vuitton. I feel like the hiring manager and higher-ups have these egos to them because they work for "Louis Vuitton." I've worked with tons of celebrities but you don't see me acting like a snob. Anyway.......
After the virtual interview, they have you compose a mock email to a customer. This is their way to gauge your grammar, punctuation, comprehension and customer service skills. You have 30 mins to complete it. After the email, you are asked to do a typing test and they are looking for 30 wpm. If you do well, they'll call you back the same day to do a mock phone call with a manager. Unfortunately, I did not get called back to do the mock call and that's ok. They made my decision much easier because I interviewing for another job and I ended up getting it. It was the job I really wanted anyway, so oh well. One door closes while another one opens.
Not to mention (I am not trying to play the race card) but I was the ONLY black person on the panel and the ONLY guy at that. I know my email and typing test was phenomenal so I'm confused as to how I didn't get hired with years of luxury retail. It's not like we had to compete for the position either because she was hiring for TONS OF THE SAME POSITION!! I guess I dodged a bullet....Whew! I know this may sound like a place of bitterness but WRONG, it's not. Louis Vuitton sucks at identifying good candidates or maybe I'm too black, lol!
