I first spoke with the Head of HR who was very friendly and professional. She consults for a few companies and was trying to help them with their HR process.
I was set up and confirmed to come in for an onsite interview with the CEO, and then the Executive Assistant sent me an abrupt email the week of the interview cancelling the meeting with no reason whatsoever. No one reached out to me to explain what happened, it was a generic message stating that they decided to go a different direction.
My guess is that this is why they need a Recruiting Manager. Someone should explain that you don't cancel an onsite interview the week it's happening with no explanation or follow up. Since we can go on websites like Glassdoor and rate how bad the experience is, my hope is the Recruiting Manager that they hire will help them with candidate experience.

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for not communicating well. We do agree that everyone deserves a reason why an interview was cancelled on the week of the interview. This is one area that’s important for us and it's the reason why we've hired someone to help define and improve our candidate experience.
