I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Macquarie Group (London, England) in Jul 2025
Interview
Multiple rounds of interviews: pre-screening, psychometric assessment, interviews with developers/managers, Macquarie still uses a very outdated screening method called "Talent Q Elements" (numerical, verbal, logical, reasoning), where logic puzzles are weaponized to make you nostalgic for the simple days of Leetcode/Hackerrank problems. These tests can be extremely challenging if you haven't trained for them, so definitely recommend preparing in advance. In the end, the feedback wasn't clear, no specific reason was given for the rejection, but I suspect it had to do with either my salary expectations or a mismatch with their company culture.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
There wasnt one specific standout question, but the interview involved multiple managers/developers asking questions at once, which made the atmosphere feel intense. They mainly focused on my past projects what I worked on, the challenges I faced, any conflicts that came up, and how I handled them. They were looking for concrete, real-world examples of problem-solving and teamwork.
