I applied online. I interviewed at Mayo Clinic (Phoenix, AZ) in May 2026
Interview
I had an online interview with a panel of 5-6 people. Everyone introduced themselves and they explained the role. They had a slideshow of questions they said they asked everyone. After they asked me individual questions.

Question 1
What is one work flow process that you implemented in your clinical skills or unit?
One initial AI video interview then an in person interview. It varies within departments, some just do one teams interview and some will do a third interview that includes PI. Know that Mayo prefers to hire internally and for some reason will still interview people even when they know the internal hire who is going to take the role.

Question 1
A lot of teams will send you a couple of the interview questions prior to the interview, one frequent one is the “how do you persist in the face of repeated challenges?”

Interview
The process was really disorganized. The panel didn’t really know who should be talking and when. When I asked questions, they all didn’t really know who should answer. Makes a lot of awkward pauses and It felt like a very unnatural conversation. Also a lot of the questions were trick ones and worded in an odd way. It felt like instead of wanting to get to know me, they were purposely trying to trick me or make me fail the questions. I also find it a little tasteless that I got a generic auto generated email to let me know I was rejected. I appreciate when companies at least make it a little personal for people who put a lot of time into the interview. But that’s just my personal opinion.
