      Associate Recruiter Interview

      May 16, 2017
      Anonymous employee
      New York, NY
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Michael Page (New York, NY)

      Interview

A friend posted that her company was hiring and I sent her my application. Immediately she called me and we spoke and she asked me to get to NYC as soon as possible for an interview. I was working at the time, but she insisted that being punctual would help my chances, so I had to skip my part-time job for the trip. I arrived, interviewed first with an associate recruiter, then with a director and manager at the same time, and they asked me to return the next day. I arranged a time much earlier than when my train was leaving. The next day I came in for the interview and was kept waiting for an hour in an interview room before someone came to see me. I spoke with the manager from the day before, her department boss, another director in her department, and then a seemingly random other employee. I waited about 15 minutes between each person coming in. In each interview section, they essentially asked me the same questions. Some of them were very kind to me, as if on my "side", while others were very harsh on me, almost playing the bad guy. I ended up missing my train home. It was a good experience for a first interview, as it was pretty intense.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Michael Page in Jan 2022

      Interview

DO NOT APPLY IF YOU ARE A POC/AA. It started off great, a recruiter reached out to me on Linkedin, and we did a phone screening and determined a specialty to put me in for the role. She gave me about a page of notes on what to expect in my interview. From what the recruiter described, it sounded like he was a friendly person and it would be a pretty easy interview. Come interview day, after being 10 minutes late to the interview, he barely asked me any questions about my work experience, did not ask me anything about myself and even worse asked me WHICH competitors of theirs that I was interviewing it. As a candidate, that is none of their business, but I let him know anyways. I have no recruitment experience so I asked: "If I were to get hired, which specialty do you believe align with my experience." He told me that he was underwhelmed by me as a candidate and the fact that I'm not interviewing with other recruitment firms made him not want to move forward. He was incredibly rude, and spoke about how the company's ROI is the most important thing to them. I felt incredibly discriminated against and I would never want to work for this company. STAY AWAY and don't waste your time.

      Associate Recruiter Interview

      Nov 14, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Houston, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Michael Page (Houston, TX)

      Interview

4 rounds of interviews; 1st was a phone call (one hour), 2nd was an online assessment (30 minutes), 1st face to face interview (2 hours) and then a 2nd face to face interview (1 hour). I lived 1.5 away but I had plans to move into the city for this job. After participating in all the interviews, I was then ignored. I reached out twice looking for feedback and was ignored. I was definitely interested in working for them.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Michael Page

      Interview

There are a total of 4 rounds to the interview process. You start with a phone interview, followed by a caliper test, then an in-person interview and then a second in-person interview which doubles as a sales role play scenario. Despite going through all the rounds, I was "too nice". So, if you want a role at this company be prepared to come in seeming as aggressive and selfish as possible.
