Very unprofessional! HR contact was not available to get me through security did not answer my call from the front desk nor did he respond to security calling him. After 20 minutes trying to find him, I was able to locate the first my email contact and pulled her phone number. So while I was 15 minutes early, as requested, I was five minutes late to my first interview. I inquired on status after 2 weeks and was told they were interested but still interviewing and they would contact me with an update. It has now been 2 months - and surprise... zero contact or update. I should have known looking at other reviews on Glassdoor. This appears to be SOP for Michaels HR. While this has become expected for initial application and sometimes after phone screen. It is not acceptable after a candidate has spent time preparing, driving, and 2.5 hours of interviewing. Having been an interviewer in the retail sector, we were always told to be polite and respectful - as they are not only candidates but also potential customers.
