Interview
I applied online, and the next day I was called to set up an interview. The interview was the following week. The Replenishment Manager interviewed me in the classroom, asked a few questions. "Tell me about yourself" "Tell me about the time you had to deal with a difficult customer."
I got the idea that there was a high turnover rate after I asked about the size of the replenishment team (and the person who was hired with me quit after a week.) I got hired on the spot, but the hiring process was very annoying being that the store manager didn't know what they were doing. Messed my information up and took weeks for it to fix. Didn't tell me much of anything about the store, their policies, what the job really entailed, etc.. but was expected to have known all of this by my first day at work.
Asked me a couple of questions about my past work experiences, how they tied in with Michaels, and how Michaels fits my future goals. Also asked me about my availability and hired me three days later.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Michaels (Huntington Station, NY) in Feb 2016
Interview
The older and recently maritally-separated replenishment team manager was attracted to me so he hired on the spot... deep people... at least I had the opportunity to get many of my questions answered regarding specific job responsibilities and expectations before my first day of work.

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Michaels (Topeka, KS) in Jul 2015
Interview
I waited at the front desk for about two minutes, I was met by the manager and we entered the arts and crafts room. I was then asked simple, expected questions and was told I would receive a call. It was simple friendly and quick (around 10 minutes since I got out of my car).
