At the time I knew someone working at Michaels. She said start with the online application process first. Once I completed the online application. I received an email with date, time, person and phone number to report at interview. Maybe the phone call was considered an interview. Human resource contact by phone. The interview was conducted at the Michaels near Lindburgh train station here in Atlanta Ga. I don't remember the actually address to Michaels at this moment. When I arrived 15 minutes early. Their were others waiting to be interviewed besides myself. Then the associate person said Ms Pate right this way. The interview was brief and to the point. Then on to the next person. It was I felt a good interview over all. I communicated my experiences, I liked her personality.
Lots of paperwork. Had to fill out a form that asked questions about family utilizing SNAP, benefits, etc which seemed very invasive. A mandatory assessment that asked the same questions over and over. Then silence for weeks. No communication until finally told they aren't recruiting for the role.

After submitting my application, I quickly received a call for an interview. The interview process was smooth and straightforward. The manager I spoke with was incredibly kind, approachable, and personable. She took her time to thoroughly explain the role and responsibilities in great detail, which I greatly appreciated.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Michaels (Augusta, GA) in Oct 2023
Interview
Very brief. Big emphasis on availability and whether you’ll also be available to work the store’s truck shift— if you’re able to, you’re more than likely going to be picked over someone who can’t. You’ll asked if you have reliable transportation, a little about yourself and any retail experience, whether you’re comfortable asking customers to sign up for rewards and apply for the credit card, and you have to understand after a certain date it’s blackout so you can’t call out. So if you’re unable to work Black Friday or have vacation days planned already for Oct, Nov & Dec. you won’t be picked. Which is understandable because it’s peak season and that’s the main reason they’re hiring you. If you choose to be kept on, you have an opportunity for a pay increase.
