I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Mindera (Porto, Oporto) in Jan 2016
Interview
I was interviewed by two people, a man and a woman. They started by presenting themselves, talking about their hobbies and promoting their side-projects.
The female interviewer goes on talking about the "3 things she likes to do": "making people happy at work", "helping people reach their potential" but then she turns to the male interviewer and asks "what's the third thing I'm supposed to say?". They both start laughing...
They didn't care about my Curriculum Vitae or my technical skills as they've only asked a bunch of useless questions like: "have you ever fried an egg?", "how do you fry an egg?", "have you ever assembled an Ikea cabinet?" or "who's your favourite comedian?". While I was answering these questions the man was drawing in a notebook which I've considered a huge lack of respect and professionalism. Later I discovered his online profile and I came to the conclusion that he lacks the technical expertise to interview a QAE which is proved by the total absence of technical questions. However they've also told me they perform other duties in the company which creates an obvious conflict of interests...
The looks of the male interviewer gave me the impression that Mindera doesn't care much about image or the "corporate look".
The next day I received an e-mail stating that my profile doesn't match what they're looking for. They should be talking about a profile different than the one on the job offer though, because my profile perfectly matches the job offer's description. Either way, they aren't able to realize if I have attention to detail, if I'm self organizing or if I have experience with test automation tools like Selenium or Protractor asking questions such as "who's your favourite comedian?" or "have you ever fried an egg?" (are they hiring a QAE or a cook?). The funny thing is that I do know how to fry an egg and how to assemble an Ikea cabinet!
In conclusion, this interview was nothing but a waste of time and money and it ruined the image that I had of the company
3 stages:
1. Basic coding test - simple iteration challenge, not testing related
2. Technical interview - questions about CI/CD and testing. Another basic coding challenge - again not testing related, just checking if you can write a basic, algorithm.
3. Cultural interview - chat with some HR people who seem to have no experience of engineering culture
4. Offer and negotiation - This was bad. Mindera refused to answer my questions about the work and the project I'd be working on until I'd signed the contract. When I did sign the contract they still didn't provide me with any useful information. It was a terrible experience and I ended up with a job I didn't want and wasn't well suited to. After I started the job, I was blamed for not being the right person for a role I never would have taken if they'd been honest about it in the first place.

Question 1
Should testers work in dev teams or across dev teams
I applied online. I interviewed at Mindera (Porto, Oporto) in Apr 2017
Interview
Appropriate for the position, considering automated testing is involved.
The process consisted of 2 technical interviews and a cultural interview that made little sense.
The 1st tech interview had some low difficulty questions, no coding involved.
The 2nd tech interview, besides making me repeat my whole job experience (bad comm stemming from the 1st interview), posed 3 tech challenges of 15 mins each. All seemed appropriate. A bit difficult but challenging to do.

Second technical interview: Made me repeat my whole job experience. After the first interview this shouldn't happen. Share the info you gather people.
