The initial phone screen was straightforward and informal, and that was followed by a writing assignment that was moderate-to-simple in difficulty. The assignment itself was outdated and had several copy errors in the instructions. I was told after submitting my assignment that I would be a great fit for the team and the hiring manager wanted to make sure I was still interested. However, the hiring process would take another couple of weeks and I was told I would definitely be notified either way, if I was to continue or not. Then, radio silence! I never heard from the hiring manager again, even after two follow-ups.
