I applied online and was called in for an interview at their Melville location. The interview was with the manager and director of the department. It was a behavioral interview that went on for one and half hour. They asked me to talk about my resume and why I wanted to work there. Later they went to 9-10 structured questions that required STAR method. The topics where related to safety, teamwork, leadership skills, adaptability, communication skills, integrity etc. They asked a lot of questions about the STAR answers because they were very interested on how the utility company I interned at worked.
I really enjoyed my interview and they said I did very well on the interview. Unfortunately, they thought I was overqualified being an electrical engineer applying for a Compliance analyst position. They were afraid I would not stay long in that position once I get better engineering position.
I knew after the interview that they wouldn't hire me, but they never officially informed me until three weeks later I emailed them asking for a follow up.
