Interview
When I first applied for the position, I was eager to engage with the process, knowing it would be comprehensive. The first stage was a campus interview with faculty and directors. I arrived prepared to discuss my teaching philosophy, research interests, and how my work aligns with the university’s mission. The conversation flowed naturally as I answered questions about my experience with diversity, inclusion, and innovative teaching strategies. I also had the opportunity to ask questions about departmental culture, faculty collaboration, and student engagement initiatives.
The next stage was a test-teach session with peers. This was both exciting and a bit nerve-wracking. I designed a 30-minute lecture focused on [specific topic] and included interactive elements to demonstrate my teaching style. The faculty provided constructive feedback, and I appreciated their thoughtful insights. It was rewarding to see their engagement and hear that my methods resonated with their own teaching experiences.
Following the test-teach session, I met with the director of the program. Finally, after the interviews and presentations were complete, I received a call from the director with an offer for the position. It was an incredible moment, validating the effort I had put into the process.

3 interviews including the phone screening. Pretty straightforward process, but somewhat slow hearing back. Between the first phone screening to getting the job offer, it took about a month and a half.
